Sentinel - Manager is used to manage the Compact Controllers and the Time and Attendance Units. Sentinel can be installed on any Windows 95/98/ME/NT4/2000 PC connected to an Ethernet Local or Wide Area Network (LAN or WAN). Sentinel can manage multiple readers (proximity cards, swipe cards or keypads)/controllers on the network.
The Sentinel - Manager provides full configuration, management and monitoring capability for applications such as door strikes, bolts and time and attendance systems across the network from the Administrator's workstation.
Sentinel - Manager can be quickly configured so the system will be operable as soon as the applicable equipment has been installed. The next step is the enrollment of the individuals that will be authorized access to common or specific areas and time and attendance requirements, if any.
Each individual enrolled in the system has their own user account and if the system is a card based system; an ID card will be issued each authorized person. The individual account of each user will contain information and comprehensive access and security settings that will determine when and where they can be granted access or the ability to clock in for timekeeping purposes. Each user will have their own log and database files for generating reports of usage. Reports can be produced for each individual card reader and the usage patterns of multiple readers can be simultaneously monitored and logged by Sentinel over the network. User data can be retrieved locally or remotely over the Intranet or Internet.
The ID reader/controller downloads its data to the PC running Sentinel once every minute, ensuring that the software always has an up-to-date record. |
